Sometimes people ask Jodie some questions. Here are some of them along with the answers. If you have some additional questions, send them her way.
Where do you get your ideas or inspirations for your books?

Where do you get your ideas or inspirations for your books?
I have always been encouraged to be artistic and I love tying in real conversations into my writing. I feel it helps ground the story. My actual dreams are sometimes so realistic and it has fed most of my first five novels.
Where do you like to write? At home, do you have a special place that works best?
I usually write at my kitchen table. It keeps me leaning forward and somehow that helps me get going on a chapter. Sometimes if that doesn't work, I sit on my couch and pretend I am going to watch a movie, d then I can rock out some text.
What do you do when you are not writing books?
What do you do when you are not writing books?
I work full-time in a youth-serving field. I love spending time with my horse, fishing, camping, hiking, reading books, antiquing, wine tastings, or watching movies. I love to dance, but since there aren't any dance clubs around, I dance in my kitchen.
Are any of your characters based on real people?
Some of them are based on my children, or friends, or family members. It makes it easier to write from experience sometimes, even if I glam them up or change them.
How long is the writing process for you?
Most chapters take me about 3 hours to write, rework, review with my writing group, and rework again. Given the organic build of my novels, I have a general who, how, why or what, and when...and how to wrap (what we call in theater) as beats and the climax. Sometimes it takes a year plus to write a book and go through the reviews and beta readers. If I didn't work as much as I do, I could probably get quite a few more books done in a year.
What kind of project are you working on now?
I am working on three books currently named Rebellious, Dream Snatcher, and Omar.
Rebellious is another Sci-fi book, more dark than anything I have written to date.
Dream Snatcher is a another Sci-fi book about what would it mean if we could capture what we dream.
Omar is a much needed sequel for the Blackwing series. (Some many are asking for him, I mean, it.
